The Pig of Lead was formerly a public house and is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Bonsall. Now offering bed & breakfast accommodation with en-suite rooms. History to the present day
Formerly called the Via Gellia Inn, it stood where the Via Gellia road meets the Clatterway. It was an inn in the mid 1700's and used by miners of the local quarry.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served in the Breakfast Room daily from 8.00am to 9.00am. Enjoy the Derbyshire breakfast which consists of bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, award winning local black pudding, free range eggs and homemade oatcakes, toast and local honey. A selection of cereals, fruit juices, teas and coffees are also served.
A guest sitting room with solid fuel stove is available to relax in at the end of the day. Off road parking and secure parking is available if required. If you are a walker you can park your car for the week and find public footpaths in all directions on the doorstep. A lock up facility for bicycles is also available.

Directions: From Matlock, take A6 to Cromford. At lights turn right onto A5012 (Cromford Hill). Turn right after the Greyhound Public House onto Water Lane. Continue for 0.9 miles. The Pig of Lead is on your right at the intersection of the A5012 and Clatterway.
